This Jubilee medal was created in 1880 to celebrate the 1400th anniversary of the birth of St Benedict. It was designed by the prior of Montecassino, the Very Rev. Boniface Krug OSB, who was originally a monk at St. Vincent Archabbey in Latrobe, PA, which is still very much in existence, along with St Vincent College. It is the most loved of all St Benedict medals.
